Evaluation and accreditation

Evaluation on school affairs
The university was evaluated by the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan commissioned by the Ministry of Education.  The evaluation results showed that CGU pass all the four major categories in the assessment on school affairs for the second half of the 107th academic year.

Evaluation on departmental affairs
The University has applied to the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan for quality assurance and accreditation. In total, 19 units, including 9 departments, 4 graduate institutes, and 6 degree programs were evaluated. An on-site visit was conducted in the first half of 2021, and results were announced in August 2021.

On the 21st of January 2015, the University received a letter (No. 1030194352A) from the Ministry of Education to recognize the self-assessment mechanism and results of the University.  CGU was exempted from evaluation from 2015 to 2020.

TMAC assessment (College of Medicine)
The School of Medicine was evaluated by the Taiwan Medical Accreditation Council (TMAC) in December 2016. The evaluation result showed that the school has passed the evaluation. A written follow-up assessment was conducted in July 2019.  The result showed that an early and comprehensive visit was required, which was expected to take place from October to December 2020.

IEET Accreditation on Engineering, Science and Technology Education (College of Engineering)
The Department of Electrical Engineering, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering, the Department of Electronic Engineering, the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, and the Graduate Institute of Electro-Optical Engineering underwent their third periodic review in the 107th academic year. The results were announced on the 31st of January 2019. All the 5 departments and 6 graduate institutes of the College of Engineering of the University passed the review and were certified with a validity period of 6 years.

AACSB International Accreditation for Business and Management Education (College of Management)
-The University is expected to undertake an official on-site (or virtual) visit from the peer review team in May 2022.
-The University undertook a pre-visit from the chair of the peer review team in December 2021.
-The University submitted its application for the 2021-2022 Continuous Improvement Review in July 2019.
-The University received its initial accreditation by the AACSB in August 2016 with a validity period of 5 years.

Environmental Safety Assessment (Office of Environmental Safety and Hygiene)
In 2018, the university undertook the Ministry of Education's Collegiate Assessment of the Environmental Management on Campus.  The result showed that the university passed the assessment and was awarded the honor of “Excellence”.

Information Security Certification (Computer Center)
In October 2019, the university was granted the SGS (SGS TAIWAN LIMITED) International ISO27001 Information Security Certification.
In October 2019, the university was granted the SGS (SGS TAIWAN LIMITED) ISO27017 Cloud Service Information Security Management Certification.

Health Care Consultation (Health Care Division)
In May 2017, the university undertook the Ministry of Education's Collegiate Health Care Consultation Assessment for the 105th academic year. On-site visits were carried out to understand how the university handled the health care and to assist the university to make improvements as well as to improve the overall quality of health care. The result of the visit showed the university passed the assessment.

Student Counseling (The Student Counseling Division of the Office of Student Affairs)
In August 2018, the university undertook the Ministry of Education's Public and Private College Student Counselling Promotion Assessment for the 107th academic year. The result showed the university passed the assessment.

International Certification of Laboratory Animal Care (Laboratory Animal Center)
On November 8, 2018, the university was certified as an international laboratory for experimental animals by the AAALAC International.
