Performance and achievement

In 2019, Chang Gung University (CGU) awarded a NTD$169,140,000 grant from Higher Education Sprout Project in the Ministry of Education. Moreover, our three featured areas research centers were approved by the MOE. Among them, the Research Center for Emerging Viral Infections is the only private institution in Taiwan to receive an additional grant from the Ministry of Science and Technology.

According to the rankings published by the Shanghai Ranking Consultancy in 2019, CGU has been ranked within the top 600 universities in the world for 12 consecutive years. In particular, CGU’s nursing is ranked the 30th in the world, leading all other universities in Taiwan.

The Global Views Monthly ranked Taiwan's top-performing universities in 2019, and CGU was rated the best private school in the category of comprehensive universities.

The UK-based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) published its 2020 World University Rankings. Eleven universities in Taiwan were ranked within the top 500, and CGU was ranked the 484th.

National Taiwan University announced the 2019 NTU Ranking. CGU was ranked within 501-550 in the world in all fields.  CGU was also ranked the 4th in Taiwan, on a par with National Yang-Ming University. In addition, CGU was the top-ranked university among all private universities nationwide.

Times Higher Education (THE) published its 2018 Global Ranking of Young Universities. CGU was not only ranked within the top 150, but it was also ranked the 34th among young universities founded between 1986 and 1999.

Leiden University in the Netherlands published the 2017 CWTS Leiden Ranking exclusively based on bibliometric indicators: the volume and citation impact of academic papers at each university. CGU was ranked the 220th in the world and the 3rd in Taiwan.

The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) announced the 2017 World University Rankings by Subject. CGU was ranked the 8th in the world in the nursing discipline.
